Stephen Lam started his career as a Production Coordinator at Great Wall Movie Enterprises Ltd. in Hong Kong in 1968. In 1982, the company merged into Sil-Metropole Organisation Ltd., and Stephen was invited to head the production department. To date, he has produced over eighty feature films across genres, and carries over three decades of co-production experience with mainland China and Taiwan. He played instrumental roles in the Overheard 3(2014), Overheard 2(2011), Grandmaster(2013), Cold War (2012), Lust, Caution (2007), Hero (2002), the Story of Qiu Ju (1992) and Shaolin Temple (1982), and has worked closely with numerous renowned directors including Ang Lee, Yimou Zhang, Kai Wai Wong, Hsia Hsian Hou, Ann Hui, Johnny To and Tung Wang.
